Like all mud terrain tyres, lifespan depends heavily on use. On sealed roads, expect 40,000-60,000 km. Off-road use is gentler on the rubber – the same tyre can last 80,000+ km if primarily used in mud and dirt. Regular rotation every 8,000 km extends life significantly.
Yes – all mud terrain tyres are noisier than all-terrains or highway tyres. The Grandtrac MT1 uses variable pitch tread blocks to reduce harmonic drone, making it quieter than directional MTs like the Comforser CF3000. Expect around 74 dB at highway speeds – noticeable but not intrusive for most drivers.
Symmetrical (Grandtrac MT1): Can be rotated to any wheel position, offering more even wear and flexibility. The tread works equally well in both directions.

Directional (e.g., CF3000): V-shaped pattern that only works in one direction. More aggressive mud evacuation but can only rotate front-to-back on the same side. Generally louder on roads.
You can, but should you? If you're doing primarily road driving with occasional off-road trips, an all-terrain tyre is a better choice. MTs wear faster on sealed surfaces, use more fuel, and are noisier. The Grandtrac MT1 is best for those doing at least 30% genuine off-road driving.
Road: Use your vehicle's placard pressure (typically 32-38 PSI for utes).
Gravel/Dirt: Drop 4-6 PSI from road pressure.
Soft Sand: 18-22 PSI (increases footprint for flotation).
Mud: 20-25 PSI (allows tread to flex and grip).
Rock Crawling: 18-22 PSI (maximises grip but risk of rim damage).

No – the Grandtrac MT1 does not carry the 3PMSF winter rating. While the aggressive tread works well in unpacked snow, MT tyres lack the siping needed for ice and packed snow performance. For serious NZ alpine use, consider dedicated winter tyres or chains.
It depends on the size. Standard sizes like LT265/70R16 and LT265/70R17 usually fit common 4WD utes without modification. Larger sizes like 33" and 35" typically require a suspension lift and/or body mount chop to clear. Use our Tyre Size Calculator to check if your chosen size will clear without rubbing.
The Grandtrac MT1 comes with a 5-year manufacturer warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship. This is the longest warranty in its class – most competitors offer only 3 years. Note that wear-related issues and impact damage are not covered, as with all tyre warranties.
