- If you want a daily-driver tyre that feels steady at open-road speeds, stays composed in the wet and wears slowly, the Anchee AC708 is built for the job. It suits small hatchbacks and sedans such as the Toyota Corolla, Mazda 2 and 3, Suzuki Swift and Honda Jazz, and is sold in New Zealand exclusively through Tyre Dispatch. Its symmetrical, non-directional tread is the quiet achiever here: it can be rotated in any direction, so the tyre wears evenly and lasts longer.
- Comfort is the AC708's main job and it does it well. A varied-pitch tread design breaks up the noise pattern for a smoother, quieter cabin at motorway speeds, while a stable centre tread and supported shoulders keep the car tracking straight and responding cleanly to steering. Four wide circumferential grooves, backed by extra grooves cut into the tread blocks, channel water away to hold grip when the road turns slippery. Every size carries a UTQG 480 A A rating, with speed ratings from T through to W and wet grades of B to A depending on the fitment. Popular sizes include 185/65R15, 195/65R15 and 205/55R16.
