Tyres Delivered to Hamilton
Hamilton is our closest major city and one of our steadiest destinations. Free delivery to urban addresses, every month since 2020, straight down SH1 from a Te Puke warehouse holding 15,000 tyres. Cheaper than a Hamilton shopfront, and close enough that the freight costs us almost nothing.
About 125km of road between us and you
Order before 12pm on a weekday and it leaves the same day, tracked, usually arriving next business day. Free to urban Hamilton, Chartwell, Rototuna and Hillcrest, no minimum order.
Half the Waikato runs two vehicles worth of use
Hamilton orders split cleanly between town cars and vehicles that spend part of the week off seal.
🛣 Flat and fast
Waikato driving is steady state at open road speed. Easy on tread, and unforgiving of pressures that are wrong, because nothing about the drive makes it obvious.
🌾 Farm and forestry access
A lot of Hamilton vehicles spend half their week off seal. Those two uses want different tyres and most people run one, which is a choice worth making deliberately.
🚚 Towing
Trailer work is common here. Load rating and pressure matter more than tread pattern the moment there is weight behind you.
Who fits them once they land in Hamilton?
Not us, and that is the one real downside of buying from out of town. Almost any shop will fit tyres they did not sell, usually $20 to $40 a tyre. Ring first. On a full set the saving covers it comfortably; on a single tyre it might not, and we would rather say so than let you find out.
What we actually ship to Hamilton

Hamilton is our closest city
Hamilton is our closest city and one of our steadiest destinations, every month since 2020. It is also the cheapest city for us to reach, which is why the freight is free and why the price gap holds up even on a single tyre. The size mix leads on a 4WD size, which is not what most people would guess for a city.
Hamilton is close enough that the freight costs us almost nothing, so the price gap is the entire point of ordering from here. Tyres start at $70.

Can I have the tyres sent straight to a fitter?
Yes, and it is usually easier than having them at home. Put the workshop address and their business name in at checkout, then ring them so they know it is coming. Most Hamilton workshops will fit tyres you supply, and they charge you for the fitting directly.

Taylor Houghton
Manager, Tyre Dispatch · Warehouse Manager, Traction Tyres
Taylor Houghton has spent his working life in the tyre trade, beginning in his father's tyre business at the age of five and handling import containers through his school years. He developed Tyre Dispatch, the retail arm of Traction Tyres, and now manages it alongside the Traction Tyres warehouse in Te Puke, with responsibility for buying and brand selection. He holds no ownership interest in either business.
Both brands the company distributes exclusively in New Zealand, Anchee and Predator, were his selections, each assessed on factory accreditation, compound composition and independent test data rather than name recognition. More than 100,000 Anchee tyres have since been sold here, and both brands hold five star review averages.
The guides, calculators and tools on this site are his own work, as is the workshop dataset behind them, which covers 1,700+ documented tyre inspections and 45,000+ photographs and represents more than a thousand hours, the majority outside business hours. He is the petitioner to Parliament for mandatory tyre performance labelling and minimum wet-grip standards in New Zealand, and appeared in the launch video for Tyrewise, the national tyre stewardship scheme.
Photography, measurements and advice on this site are first-hand; where a figure comes from elsewhere, it is attributed.
