About us

This website, tyredispatch.co.nz, is operated by Traction Tyres Limited, trading as Tyre Dispatch. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Traction Tyres Limited and its directors, employees and agents.

By using this website, placing an order or booking a service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site or our services.

Products and orders

When you place an order you are making an offer to purchase. We may accept or decline any order, and we will tell you which.

Product information

We work hard to keep descriptions, images, specifications and sizing accurate, but we do not guarantee the site is free of errors. If a product does not match its description, your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act apply.

Stock availability

Everything is subject to availability. If something is out of stock after you order, we contact you to arrange an alternative or a full refund. We will never ship a substitute product without your agreement.

Order cancellation by us

We may cancel an order where we find a pricing error, suspect fraud, or hit another genuine problem. You get a full refund if we do. We may also limit quantities per order.

Pricing and payment

All prices are in New Zealand dollars and include GST unless stated otherwise. Prices can change without notice, but the price confirmed at checkout is the price you pay.

Payment methods

We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express through Shopify Payments, plus PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Shop Pay, Afterpay, bank transfer, and Work and Income payments. The payment options page covers every method in detail, including in-store surcharges.

Buy now, pay later is provided by a third party and is subject to their terms, not ours. We are not responsible for terms a provider imposes on you, and we cannot see or change your limit with them.

Pricing errors

If we spot a pricing error after you have ordered, we contact you before processing. You can proceed at the correct price or cancel for a full refund. We do not quietly charge the higher amount.

Delivery

We deliver throughout New Zealand. Urban North Island delivery is free, and rural and South Island addresses pay flat per-tyre rates. The shipping policy has every rate, timeframe, courier and collection option.

• Orders placed before 12pm on a weekday are dispatched the same business day.
• Same day local delivery covers Tauranga, Mount Maunganui, Papamoa, Welcome Bay and Te Puke for orders placed before 10am on a weekday.
• Delivery timeframes are estimates, and courier delays, weather and public holidays all affect them.
• Risk passes to you once the goods are delivered to the address you gave at checkout.
• If tyres arrive damaged, tell us straight away with photographs. We arrange a replacement or refund at no cost to you.

Fitting and balancing

We fit and balance at our workshop, 31 Station Road, Te Puke. Appointments are required and can be made through the online booking system or by phone.

• Fitting only: $15 to $20 per tyre depending on size.
• Fitting and balancing: $35 per tyre, or $40 for larger 4WD and commercial sizes.
• Same price wherever you bought the tyres. No surcharge for bringing your own.
• Included: removal, mounting, computer assisted balancing, a new valve, a safety inspection and disposal of the old tyres through Tyrewise.
• Twelve month workmanship guarantee. Vibration or balance problems caused by our work get put right free.
• No cancellation or rescheduling fees. Just give us what notice you can.

Returns and refunds

The refund policy is the full and authoritative version. In summary:

• Faulty, damaged or incorrect products: we cover return shipping and provide a replacement or a full refund at no cost to you.
• Change of mind: you have twelve months to return tyres that are unused, unmounted, in original condition and accompanied by proof of purchase. There are no restocking fees. The original delivery cost is not refunded on a change of mind.
• Wrong size ordered: we exchange it, and in most cases we cover the freight both ways. You pay or receive the price difference.
• Already fitted: outside the change of mind policy, but if you have done under 1,000 km talk to us and we will look at it case by case.

Nothing in this section limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act. On top of the policy sits our satisfaction guarantee.

Interactive tools and calculators

We publish a range of free tools, including the braking distance calculator, the tyre size calculator and comparison tool, the driver safety report, the WOF axle checker, the tyre pressure calculator and various fitment lookups.

They are a guide, not a specification

The tools are for educational and informational purposes. They are built on real data and methodologies we can defend, but they are not a substitute for professional advice, and results should be treated as guidance rather than definitive engineering or safety figures.

Tools that use artificial intelligence

Some tools use artificial intelligence and machine learning to analyse images or generate results, including services from Google, OpenAI and Anthropic. AI systems make mistakes. Verify anything important independently, and we are not liable for decisions made on AI generated results alone.

Images you upload

Where a tool asks you to upload an image, that image is processed by a third-party service to produce the result. We do not store uploaded images beyond the time needed to process your request, and we never use them for training, marketing or anything else.

Third-party data

Some tools draw on outside sources such as weather services, road condition databases and vehicle specification databases. We are not responsible for the accuracy of that data, and we cannot guarantee those services are always available.

Using this website

By using the site you confirm you are at least 18, or have a parent or guardian's consent.

What you must not do

• Use the site for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems, databases or servers
• Scrape, crawl or use automated tools to extract data from the site without our written permission
• Transmit malicious code or anything designed to disrupt the site
• Interfere with anyone else's use of the site
• Submit false, misleading or fraudulent information
• Use the site to harass, abuse or harm anyone

We may block access and refuse service to anyone who breaks these rules.

Third-party links and availability

The site links to third-party services such as courier tracking, payment providers and review platforms. We are not responsible for their content, accuracy or practices. We aim to keep the site up at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access, and we may take it offline for maintenance without notice.

Privacy and data

Your personal information is handled under our privacy policy and the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. In summary:

• We collect only what we need to process orders, provide services and talk to you.
• Payments are processed by Shopify Payments and our payment partners. We never store your full card details.
• We use your email for order and shipping updates, and for marketing only if you opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time.
• We use cookies and analytics to improve the site.
• The store is hosted by Shopify, so your data may sit on Shopify's servers under their data processing agreement.

Intellectual property

Everything on this site, including text, images, logos, tools, calculators, code, guides and educational material, is owned by or licensed to Traction Tyres Limited unless stated otherwise.

You may not reproduce, copy, distribute, sell or commercially exploit any of it without our written permission. That includes our tools and calculators, our guides and research, the Tyre Dispatch brand and logos, and the design and component system behind the site.

You are welcome to link to our content and to cite our published data with attribution. We would rather be quoted than copied.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by New Zealand law, and except where the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or other legislation prevents exclusion:

• We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising from your use of our website, products, services or tools.
• Our total liability for any claim about a product or service is limited to the amount you paid for it.
• We are not liable for delays or failures caused by things outside our reasonable control, including courier delays, natural disasters, pandemics and supplier problems.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded under New Zealand law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, and your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.

General terms

Governing law

These terms are governed by New Zealand law, and disputes are subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts. For a consumer dispute you may also be able to use the Disputes Tribunal, which is cheaper and faster than court.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The current version is always on this page with its update date, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it. For significant changes we make reasonable efforts to tell you, by website notice or email.

Severability, entire agreement and waiver

If any provision here is unlawful or unenforceable it is severed without affecting the rest. These terms, together with our privacy policy, refund policy, shipping policy, fitting and balancing terms and satisfaction guarantee, form the entire agreement between you and Traction Tyres Limited. If we do not enforce a right on one occasion, we have not waived it.
