What the Adventure A/T is built to do
Carry the load all week on the seal, then grip on gravel, dirt and sand when the road ends.
The Adventure A/T is built for the vehicle that does both. Big staggered blocks and wide grooves grip on soft, loose and uneven ground and clean themselves as they turn, fine sipes cut across the blocks give it bite on a wet road, and an open shoulder channels the water away. Underneath, a strengthened 10 ply casing holds its shape under load. It comes in 245/70R16 118S, 265/70R16 121S, 265/65R17 120S and 265/60R18 119S.

How the Adventure A/T works
Every part of the Adventure A/T has a job to do. Here is what each one does for you, on the seal and off it.
Grip off the seal
The Adventure A/T's blocks are big and staggered, set with wide grooves between them and a tuned pattern of sipes across them. Together they give the tyre edges to bite with on soft, loose and uneven ground: the gravel road, the farm track, the beach access and the forestry road. They also keep it moving forward where the surface is breaking up under the wheels, which is where a highway tyre starts to spin.
A tread that cleans itself
The staggered layout does a second job. As the tyre turns, it squeezes out the mud and snow that would otherwise pack in between the blocks, so the tread keeps its grip instead of turning into a slick. It throws stones out of the grooves too, before the weight of the vehicle can drill them down into the tread and on towards the casing.
Sure on a wet road
Wide, pyramid shaped sipes cut across the blocks give the Adventure A/T grip on a wet road, and the open shoulder and wide grooves channel water and slush out from under the tyre so it resists aquaplaning. Joyroad built it to hold firm on wet seal and to steer well off road, which is the whole job of an all terrain on a New Zealand ute.
Quieter than it looks
An all terrain tread can drone on the motorway, so Joyroad lays the Adventure A/T's blocks out in an optimised pitch sequence, varying their lengths so the sound they make does not build into one note. On the current EU registry every size measures 73 decibels outside the car. It is a tyre you can drive to work all week before you take it bush.
Built to carry
Every Adventure A/T we sell is 10 ply light truck construction, rated up to 80 psi. Across the range the load index runs to 121, or 1,450 kilograms a tyre, which is what a loaded tray, a canopy or a trailer needs under it. A strengthened internal structure holds the tyre's shape under that load, and a protector band on the sidewall guards it against punctures and impact damage.
Deep tread, long life
Joyroad's catalogue gives the Adventure A/T 11.4 mm of tread when new. Its wide tread and fine 3D sipes put more rubber in contact with the road, which sharpens the handling in the wet and the dry and helps the tread wear well. That is 9.9 mm to use before the 1.5 mm legal minimum, so keep the pressures right and rotate the set, and it goes a long way.

Light truck tyres are not graded under UTQG, which is why no treadwear grade appears on this page. European labels apply to European market sizes; New Zealand has no tyre labelling scheme, so those grades are context rather than a local standard.
