Anchee

Who makes Anchee, and why we import it

A tyre brand we chose on the factory behind it, not the price on the sidewall.

Anchee tyres are made by Xingyuan, which the China Rubber Industry Association ranks seventh among Chinese tyre makers. Xingyuan has spent more than ten years building tyres for Yokohama, the world's seventh largest tyre company, and that work brought Yokohama's design, testing and quality control methods into the factory, and it tests in its own ISO 17025 accredited laboratory.

We have been the sole New Zealand importer since 2018. That means the stock is ours, the warranty is backed by us, and the tyres are fitted and inspected in our own workshop, which is where the grading on these pages gets checked against real wear. Every Anchee carries a five year manufacturer warranty against defects, and there is more on the brand on our Anchee page.

The Anchee range

12 patterns, 162 sizes, read from our listings on 22 September 2026. Each name links to that pattern's own page, and each pattern is introduced below the table.

UTQG grades cover passenger tyres. Light truck patterns are graded on load index and the European label instead, and their pages explain the numbers.

AC808: the everyday car tyre

The tyre for the cars New Zealand actually drives: Corollas, Swifts, Mazda 3s, Jazzes and everything like them. Four straight grooves clear the rain, a fine symmetric tread stays quiet on chip seal, and a silica compound rolls easily and wears slowly. It is graded 420 A A, scores a B for wet grip on most sizes, and measures 70 to 72 decibels, among the quietest tyres we sell. 33 sizes from 13 to 16 inch.

AC708: the touring tyre

For the family hatch or sedan that does the commute all week and the open road at the weekend. A continuous centre rib keeps the car tracking straight at 100 km/h, structured shoulders answer the steering cleanly, and the compound is built for long, even wear: graded 480 A A, B for wet grip on both sizes, and H and V speed rated. 2 sizes, both 15 inch, and both also come in the AC808 if the fuel grade matters more to you.

AC218: 205/55R16 as a 94V XL

One size, done properly. 205/55R16 is on more Corollas, Mazda 3s, Civics and Golfs than any other size, and the AC218 is Anchee's 94V XL for it: a higher load index than the 91 most of those cars came on, an asymmetric tread for the corners and the wet, graded 420 A A, B for wet grip, and 70 decibels. If your placard asks for a 94, or you carry people and luggage, this is the one.

AC818: the performance tyre

Built to be driven hard and driven every day. The AC818 runs a different tread on each half of the tyre, a fine inner half for wet grip and big blocked outer shoulders that hold their shape in a corner, on a compound built to last: graded 480 A A, which is half as high again as the median low profile tyre we inspect. W and Y speed rated, XL on most sizes, and a B for wet grip on 40 of 42 sizes. 42 sizes from 16 to 21 inch.

See the AC818 range: 42 sizes

AC718: ultra high performance, two sizes

An asymmetric ultra high performance tyre for sports sedans and hot hatches, W rated and XL on both sizes and graded 480 A A, the same treadwear grade as the AC818. Both sizes also exist in the AC818, which carries the better European label there, so the AC718 is the right call when it is the size on the shelf and you want it fitted today. 2 sizes, 17 to 18 inch.

Titan ACF01: the run flat

For the cars that came on run flats and carry no spare. A reinforced sidewall keeps the Titan rolling at reduced speed after a puncture, so a flat on the motorway becomes a drive to the tyre shop instead of a wait on the shoulder. Under the reinforcement it is an asymmetric performance tyre, graded 420 A A and 480 A A, with a B for wet grip on all 4 sizes. 4 sizes from 16 to 18 inch, marked ZRF on the sidewall.

EP Founder CE101: the electric vehicle tyre

Built for the three things an electric car does to a tyre that a petrol car does not: full torque from a standstill, braking through the tyres every time you lift off, and a cabin quiet enough to hear them. The load index is the same as any car of the same weight; what differs is the compound and the tread. Graded 480 A A on its graded sizes, B for wet grip, 72 decibels, XL on every size. 6 sizes from 17 to 19 inch.

AC828: the SUV highway tyre

Most of the driving an SUV does is on sealed roads, and the AC828 is built for exactly that. Four wide grooves clear the water, a tightly packed symmetric tread keeps a tall, heavy vehicle steady, and the pattern is tuned to stay quiet at open road speed, with the load ratings a heavier vehicle needs. Graded 520 A A on every size, B for wet grip on every labelled size, 70 to 75 decibels. 29 sizes from 15 to 20 inch.

See the AC828 range: 29 sizes

AC858: the all terrain tyre

For utes and 4WDs that spend the week on the road and the weekend somewhere rougher. Four curved grooves clear water on the highway and throw mud and gravel back out off it, wide open shoulder blocks bite into loose surfaces, and a reinforced casing shrugs off the stones. It comes in a passenger build for SUVs, graded 520 A A, and a light truck build with two load ratings for utes that carry and tow. 14 sizes from 15 to 20 inch.

See the AC858 range: 14 sizes

Grandtrac MT1: the mud terrain tyre

For utes and 4WDs that go where the road stops. The tread is more gap than block, so mud and clay have somewhere to go and are thrown out again as the tyre turns, shoulder lugs wrap onto the sidewall to bite when the tyre is aired down, and every size is light truck construction, 6 to 10 ply, rated to carry up to 1,750 kg per tyre. Flotation sizes for lifted 15 inch rigs and 33 and 35 inch metric sizes for 16 and 17 inch utes. 11 sizes from 15 to 17 inch.

See the Grandtrac range: 11 sizes

AC838: the commercial tyre

For vans, light trucks, work utes and trailers that earn their keep. A reinforced casing carries the weight, a closed shoulder takes the knocks and keeps the tread stable, and three full length grooves clear the water. Every size carries two load ratings, one for single wheels and one for twin wheels, up to 1,215 kg per tyre, in the numeric sizes older vans and trailers run and the metric sizes newer vans run. 16 sizes from 13 to 16 inch.

See the AC838 range: 16 sizes

AC898: the heavy duty light truck tyre

For cab over light trucks, minibuses and the motorhomes and horse trucks built on them, in the two traditional 16 inch truck sizes, 7.00R16 and 7.50R16. A 12 or 14 ply casing carries the weight and takes the pressures a loaded truck needs, a rigid, squared off shoulder keeps the tread flat so it wears evenly, and four straight grooves clear the water on the highway. Two load ratings on each size, for single and twin wheels.
